“The Swallows” lies in the lovely Glenmore valley at the foot of the Cooley Mountains.
The former farmhouse has been tastefully and sympathetically restored / rebuilt by the owners to form a lovely, comfortable new home with every modern convenience.
The property is located only 15 minutes from Carlingford along the beautiful Slieve Foye mountain.
The house has been newly furnished and equipped throughout and now features a lovely farmhouse style, fully-fitted, breakfast kitchen plus utility and cloak rooms, lounge/dining room, TV lounge, spacious bedrooms and superb bathrooms.
Ample car parking has been provided and the house will sleep 13 people.
We are on call if needed and no effort has been spared to ensure that visitors enjoy a trouble-free stay.
There are no “extras”, everything is supplied.
In this area of outstanding natural beauty many visitors will be content to simply unwind and enjoy their superb surroundings at a leisurely pace.
Others will seek a more active holiday.
Activities available in the area include river and sea angling, golf (Greenore and Ballymascanlon), horse riding, hill and forest walking (Tain Trail and Slieve Forest), cycling and sailing.
There are also sea sports and a blue flag beach at Templetown.
For the more adventurous, the adventure centres in Carlingford and Omeath provide additional facilities.
Essential shopping is available in Dundalk or Newry which are only 20 minute drive from the House.

Leprechaun and Fairy Underground Cavern
This is an underground Leprechaun and Fairy cavern which is linked by two tunnels.
It is also the home of the tooth fairy. Entry to the cavern and the story of the survival of the 236 is relayed to you by the last Leprechaun Whisperer in Ireland, Kevin Woods, or in his absence a member of his extended family
Entry is €3.50 per adult accompanied with a child and €7per child which includes a leprechaun. Adults without children €5.The tour takes an hour.
Open; Tour at 2pm and 3pm Sat. and Sunday outside of school holidays. School Holidays open every day at 12, 2pm, 3pm. Closed Dec 21st to Dec 28th.
The Leprechauns were protected in 2009 by the EU. Under the European Habitats Directive.
Carlingford Adventure Centre
Carlingford Adventure Centre is located in the coastal town of Carlingford. There are over 20 outdoor activities provided on land or sea for all ages. Activities at the centre are
Sky Park:- A new Zip Line High Ropes Adventure Park.
Body Zorbing:- Mini-Zorbs, a fun alternative to Sumo Suits.
Zorbin:- You are strapped into a massive plastic ball and rolled down a hill (well a specially designed slope!)
Laser Combat:-Kick some butt Military Style in Irelands Largest privately owned Laser Combat Arena
High Ropes Course:- provides a range of activities designed to encourage both individuals and teams to step outside of their normal comfort zones.
Abseiling:- At Carlingford Adventure Centre you will rappell down a 30ft rock face. The instructors will be there to assist you all the way to the bottom.
Archery:- The Cuchulainn Archery Challenge, who will be the best archer in the land! Take up your bow and arrow, steady your aim and release.
Communication Breakdown:- It is designed to test communication skills while being deprived of one of your senses – namely sight.
Water Trampoline:-You can bounce on it, flip on it or even jump off it into the water…however you decide to use it, it’s the ultimate water activity for all ages and is a great laugh!
Frenzies:-They are very similar to Kayaks only they have an open top which makes it easier to get on and off and great fun.
Pier/Pontoon Jumping:-This is one of the most requested activities. Yes it is basically jumping off the Pier. This activity is normally done at the end of your water activity.
Funtasia Water Park
Located 2 minutes off the M1 motorway and 20 minutes north of Dublin airport. It includes This Egyptian themed entertainment centre , pirates cove interactive waterpark, featuring over 200 water gushing activities including the adrenalin pumping super bowl speed slide and the Boomerang. Monasterboice, County Louth
This is an interesting monastic site near Drogheda in County Louth. The impressive ruins include a large cemetery, two churches, one of the tallest round towers in Ireland and two of the tallest and best high crosses.
