It is an amazing location for diving as the area from Hook Head to Carnesore Point has long been known as the graveyard of a thousand ships. The fishing harbour has the added attraction of a leisure marina which has added a new dimension to the south coast with a sailing school, angling, diving and boat trips. Kilmore Quay and the area around it has many unspoilt beaches which offer miles of the finest sand dunes in the south-east. The boat themed playground is a big hit with the kids.
